I make it a point to tell my son to get the door and such for his mother, sister, strangers, etc. Such small things but I think it helps get you into the right mindset. I have a feeling 99 percent of his peers will be oblivious to that kind of thing. :(

I don't think they're oblivious....the inclination has just been squashed by feminism. Women have been imploring us to treat them like men for years now and they're just finally getting their way. Again though, I'd say this attitude is primarily urban, and proportional to the extent of urbanization. I don't see it out in the country.
