I rarely have a problem with CCI 22 (can't remember one anyway). Any CCI 22 is my first choice when available. Next, given a choice, I'd go with Federal, then Remington. I've had the most problems with Winchester ammo, both with 22 and centerfire pistol ammo. Lots more failures to fire with Winchester 22 than any other. In fact, Winchester is the only commercial centerfire ammo I've ever shot that has produced a squib. A brand new white box of Winchester 45 ACP. These days I just buy whatever 22 is available....often that means Aquila at Academy.

I like Remington yellow jackets. CCI mini-mags are my second choice. After that it is anything I can find.

I am getting a little wary of Winchester. Last year I got a white box of .410 to use at the range in my bond arms, and believe it or not, about a 3rd of the shells had no shot. The had powder, wad and were crimped, but no shot. I can't imagine how that would happen.

I don't buy Winchester white box for pistol anymore. I haven't had any problems with their shotgun shells, but then, I haven't bought much Winchester. A 22 that misfires is not that big of a deal....you can usually reload it and get it to fire, and it's not particularly dangerous. It's also somewhat understandable given how 22 rimfire is primed. However, a squib in a centerfire round is dangerous and inexcusable. A shotgun shell with no shot is inexcusable, but only dangerous if you had it loaded for self-defense.

I'll still buy Winchester 22 if it's what's available but I don't buy any of their white box pistol ammo....and maybe I should stop with the white box centerfire rifle ammo.

My problem with Winchester 22 cal ammo was jamming at the feed ramp.

No such problems with Federal or CCI.

Have had that happen too, but I've found it to be dependent on the particular gun, which makes it harder for me to quantify. The misfires happen no matter what gun I'm shooting so that jumps out at me.

CCI Mini Mag round nose copper washed is my favorite for all general purpose use.

I am using whatever I can find now though.

I've pretty much always shot whatever .22 I could find.

I "only" have 2 semi-autos in .22. The Ruger MkII seems to shoot whatever I feed it, no issues. My old High Standard... erm... well, I haven't had any issues with that, either.

The rest are bolt-actions, lever-actions, or revolvers, and those couldn't care less how well the round feeds or whether it'll cycle the action of a semi.

Never had a problem with CCI and that's all I shoot in 22 Short. My dad has had 10k rounds on order for over a year so I suppose that's a problem. CCI said they released some in December and it shipped in the first week of January but it never hit the distributors. No idea where it went.

22LR I use CCI, Federal, Winchester and Remington. I'm cycling through ammo that's around 8-10 years old now with just a few failures out of 1000 rounds. Bulk ammo packs get dumped into a small wooden Winchester box that holds around 1,000 rounds and it lasts for a few months unless the kids are home. They can go through a few thousand rounds a day easily. CCI's are never used for plinking unless someone grabs a loaded rifle propped against a door. Business rifles are always loaded with CCI's.

Good to see Long Rifles becoming available again. After the prices get back to normal I might buy some.

I had 1 round of Remington that refused to fire when the kids were home for Christmas. I think we had 10 or 12 total rounds that failed on the first primer strike out of a few thousand rounds through rifles & pistols. This Remington failed 5 or 6 strikes on different areas around the rim in a revolver which is very rare. Had a few under powered cycles in a S&W 41 but not much else. Kids were shooting Remington, Federal and Winchester. No idea if these were all Remington since I really only focused on the one round.

When I was shooting NRA Small Bore for score every week, I always had good performance with Federal Premium Gold Medal match ammo. I haven't even tried looking for it, much less buy it, since everything went kaboom in December 2012.

I do know that if .22lr ever gets back down to pre-boom pricing, I'll stockpile at least a couple of cases (5,000 rounds to a case). Most other calibers, I stockpile components (primers, powder, cases, and lead) since I cast and handload my own centerfire rounds. But rimfire needs to be stockpiled.

I had a pretty good cache before the last market craziness, but I have gradually dwindled to about 700-800 rounds of .22lr remaining.

same experiences i had with remington, thankfully i had just bought a small box of it and never used it again after that. my biggest issues with remington, winchester and to a lesser extent federal were feeding issues and underpowered cycles.
only the remington rounds had failed strikes...awful awful rounds

There hasn't been enough .22 available for me to be too choosey about brand. Among my current inventory are a couple of those green Remington boxes of 500 loosely packed rounds. They are probably the least reliable ones I've purchased so far, but even those tend to go bang about 49 out of 50 times. I don't carry a .22 for self protection, and the only reasons I have a couple of .22 pistols and a .22 AR is for plinking or instructing a new shooter.....or maybe small game hunting in a survival situation... in which case a round that goes click instead of bang isn't quite as severe a situation as it would be in a self defense situation. In fact, for instructing new shooters, a misfire or a jam can actually be a teaching moment.
