Re: Military medal research
Again, I think this is wrong. The OP specifically stated "The medal in question is the very far lower left corner of the group" The Philippines Liberation Medal ribbon is on the right. The ribbon on the left is orange with two center stripes, a brown one and a tan one. I have looked at 908 medal ribbons at USAMM and have not found this ribbon. I've passed it to a group of old vets and have yet to get an answer. I'm stumped.DocV wrote:The picture in Baldeagle's post is the Philippines Independence Medal. The medal in question is the Philippines Liberation Medal, that is racked upside down. The order of precedence is correct.

Philippine Liberation Medal, Philippine Independence Medal, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation
I thought it was orange on the PLM at first never thought the center stripes were brown and tan. Blue and white to me.
In fact, looks like this page from an old book.

Wow, that's completely different from the OP's posted ones.Scott B. wrote:A little color adjustment helps.

Re: Military medal research
I tinkered with the white value on that ribbon, nothing extreme. The liberation and presidential unit citation look to have been exposed to sunlight / aged and lost some of their original coloring.
