Sober As A Judge?

Post by Keith B »

Ruth Ginsberg admits she 'was not 100% sober' when attending the State Of The Union address and fell asleep. Can't say as I blame her, I need something to dull the pain when I hear Obama speak too. :evil2:

But not as a justice. Pretty sad she couldn't stay sober for her comrade Obama.

Looking at your sig, I wonder if she was seeing a duck when she looked at Obama and saw him talking.

The Obama drinking game...

Listen to him give a speech, and take a shot every time he references himself. Nobody has been able to remain conscious thru an entire speech yet.

"Sober as a judge" is contrasted with a funny expression that a friend uses.

When someone is REALLY drunk she says that "He was drunker than Cooter Brown!".

I don't know who Cooter Brown was but he must have been the town drunk somewhere.

Anyone ever hear this expression before?

Cooter Brown, sometimes given as Cootie Brown, is a name used in metaphors and similes for drunkenness, mostly in the Southern United States. Cooter Brown supposedly lived on the line which divided the North and South during the American Civil War, making him eligible for military draft by either side. He had family on both sides of the line, so he did not want to fight in the war. He decided to get drunk and stay drunk for the duration of the war so that he would be seen as useless for military purposes and would not be drafted. Ever since, colloquial and proverbial ratings of drunkenness have been benchmarked against the legendary drinker: "as drunk as Cooter Brown" or "drunker than Cooter Brown."[1]
