Another New Jersey Faux Pas...

Post by Running Arrow Bill »

An elderly NJ man was arrested by NJ gustapo for having an antique flintlock pistol in his vehicle who was en route to his house to add the gun to his collection. Could face up to 10 years in the Gated Community! Totally obscene!!!

I suspect someone in NJ government has his eyes on an antique pistol. We all know that prosecutors are shameless political hacks, but apparently shamelessness extends throughout NJ law enforcement as well. At least this kind of enforcement makes clear who the laws are really intended for and what their real purpose is. Kinda hard to hide behind the mantra of public safety with arrests and prosecutions like this one.

Found in a glove box. I wonder if it was permission to search or he actually opened the glove box?

..."Apparently there must be a lot of drive-by flintlock shootings in North Jersey.."

That's kinda funny, just not for this guy.

What a waste of enforcement dollars.

Well it seems more attention is being put on this case, hopefully the publicity and donations flowing into this guy's legal defense fund will help get these ridiculous charges dropped.

Charges dropped today. Sheriff who made the arrest is under attack and it will likely affect his re-election. NJ is very anti-gun but this story happened in one of only 2 counties that are rural. This is my county in NJ and everyone I know hunts and owns guns. Very different than the rest of the state.

If this had happened anywhere else in NJ, it would have ended very differently. I'm glad he's not facing jail time but I was hoping for a challenge to NJ's unconstitutional laws. Maybe that motivated the dropping of charges too.

The last line of the press release is interesting. Image

Stupid prosecutor doesn't even know what her last name is. How could she know what the laws are and what common sense is.
