House Bill 150
I know this is off topic but please support house bill 150. Let's put an end to to forward back clockwork tyranny that happens twice a year.

As big of a pain as it is, I honestly hate normal time in the fall. Gets dark way too early. I always look forward to daylight savings. Get off work and still plenty of light to do as you please. Now, if they wanted to keep summer time, I would be all for that.

Excellent! Less government intrusion into anything is always good.

I'd like daylight savings time year around.

When I lived in Arizona I found that not using daylight savings time was a little bit of a pain, but not much. It always took out of states relatives months to figure out what time it was in AZ after the time change.
Strangely enough AZ has a bill on the table that would put most of the state back on daylight savings times.

It's a pain for a couple of days, but I like it overall.

I'd vote to keep DST all year. I, too, like to have the light later in the day. In the winter it might give me a chance to get home from work while the Sun was still up.

I don't care which way we go, I just wish it would go away, one way or the other.
We should do away with time zones also.

In which sense?oohrah wrote:We should do away with time zones also.
Do away with time zones and let each locality control their own time, as it was before railroad expansion in the US? That's not a viable option.
Or do you mean just have a single time zone for the whole US? That would have no chance of passing either. Since the invention of the sundial, the hour has always been relative to the location of the sun. Being creatures of habit, I don't think people would be able to accept that drastic of a change.
Keep calm and carry.

I don't see how this would work.

Re: House Bill 150
I mean one time zone for the entire US. It works for China (same size as CONUS) and Europe. Just would take some getting used to.
Oh, and a snowball chance of happening. My work requires me to use UTC mostly anyway, so I really don't care one way or t'other.
and another thought - look at the size of the Central time zone, it goes from eastern Alabma to just east of El Paso. That's half the country.
