Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler - Help needed
Ok so I bought one of these last year and it works great for me, but now I have an issue. It seems one of the clear end caps has gone MIA, I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know if Frankford sells replacement parts, or if any dealers might know if they do? I cannot find any replacement parts online for them but it would seem like they would offer them, or at least I hope so. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/713881 ... se-tumbler" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is the item in which I'm talking about. Guess I may have to try and fab something up if they don't.

Have you contacted them?

They should be able to get you a replacement part.

I bought it from (sad face) cheaper than dirt cause at the time they had them on sale for 135 but will contact them above and see if can get any help, also contacted cheaper than dirt just to see what they say. Is that parent company of Frankford or they just carry the product?rotor wrote:Have you contacted them?

Figure if no luck anywhere can always cut out a piece from some plexiglass and attach a gasket to it, still have the screw on cap holder just not the clear cap and gasket. Blaming it on her throwing it away.

How have you liked the tumbler? Do you use stainless steel media?
Re: Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler - Help needed
Have loved it and works great. First cleaning prior to processing I dont use the ss pins, just to clean them up for the dies, usually 1 1/2 hrs. Second cleaning I do use the pins, but honestly they get super clean without the pins, the pins just seem to shine them up more, usually 2 hrs. The brass looks better then brand new, and spotless inside and out. This model cleans 1k rds of 223 with the pins, to me one of the better investments made.AlaskanInTexas wrote:How have you liked the tumbler? Do you use stainless steel media?

Just ordered one - hope it works as well for me. After using this, do you feel you have any need for a sonic cleaner or vibratory tumbler? I'd love to get rid of mine, but not sure if they might still be of use.PBR wrote:Have loved it and works great. I sold my vibratory tumbler and haven't looked back. As for the sonic cleaner using it on the brass won't be needed but they are nice for cleaning gun parts so might be something you might keep it for. Also pick up some Dawn dish detergent and some Lemi-Shine also in dish detergent area. I usually just put a nice squirt (teaspoon or so) and teaspoon of Lemi-shine on final cleaning, first cleaning I just use Dawn. Brass will come out amazing and super clean.AlaskanInTexas wrote:

Re: Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler - Help needed
Just came in yesterday - love it. Thanks for the recommendation. Of course my wife just shakes her head and asks why I need four different pieces of equipment just to clean brass...
Re: Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler - Help needed
Please forgive my ignorance, but are you cleaning brass for reloading when it's not necessary, merely cosmetic?
If this is so, I'm not being critical, just curious.
I like brass snap locks - I tell my wife it's a form of "man jewelry" and she just shakes head slowly and sadly...

Mostly so that it is clean for the dies and to make it easier to inspect for flaws. And as a side benefit, the shine.Abraham wrote:Please forgive my ignorance, but are you cleaning brass for reloading when it's not necessary, merely cosmetic?

Glad you like it, stuff comes out super clean way better than vibratory cleaning to me, especially when comes to removing case lube from rifle cases. My clear end cap and gasket arrived today from them, sent Zane Allen a thank you response and pointed him towards this thread and forum

Re: Frankford Arsenal Platinum Rotary Tumbler - Help needed
Well happened to find the end cap today while out in back yard. Walking around out back and happened to see something just under the edge of a shed I have went and looked to see what it was and there it was the end cap. Of course it was chewed up pretty bad and of no use, looked little farther under and noticed one of my hammers and some pliers that have been missing, lost. I picked the cap up and as soon as I walked in the house my smaller little Pit ducked his head and took off (lol), he knew he was busted. No telling what all else is under there. I knew he crawled under there a lot but just never got him taking anything under to chew it up or caught him chewing on anything before. Thank fully they sent me a new end cap now if could just get a new hammer cause he chewed it up good, lol. Will have to see later on what all else is under there.
