New upscale range/gun shop/cafe planned in N Ricland Hills

Post by n5wd »

Bodyguard Sports wants to convert a former Home Depot Design Center into an upscale gun-oriented "destination" complete with range, shop, cafe, training classrooms/bays, etc.

The story, as told by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Monday 3/30/15:

Excellent! Thanks for posting. News to me!

I can drop my wife off at Northeast Mall so she can spend my money, and I can go to the gun range, and lament about her spending my money. :???:

I hope it will be an overwhelming success.

I remember when the Caliber range was announced, and I kept looking for it to materialize and finally decided that maybe I had read wrong or something. Good to see that there is still a plan in the works. Right down the road from me, so easy access.

The article says "two rifle and pistol bays and a five-stand sport shooting place." Surely they mean more than that. If that is all they will have then why bother. The article says they will only be using half the building.

Between this and the Advanced Gunworks maybe-gonna-happen-sometime thing, I'm just going to happily keep shooting at my range and let everyone else worry about it. If these guys have this much money to invest, why not find an outdoor location that allows shooting on the move, drawing from holsters, doesn't have stupid rapid-fire and ammo type rules and build what people want and need instead of yet another indoor range?

I actually met the gentleman who is planning this a couple of years ago. He is a dealer of N8² holsters and I swung by his place to pick one up for my m&p. He showed me his plans and looked to really be serious about his endeavor. Nice guy.
