AIWB and IWB Holsters
Do you have to buy two different holsters for each carry method?

Re: AIWB and IWB Holsters
It really depends on which holster you buy. I personally have a GCode Incog and absolutely love it. I can use it for either. The new Eidolon from Raven Concealment is supposed to be a great modular system. Left, right, aiwb, iwb, soft/hard attachments etc. If you go with a Crossbreed though, you will have to get a separate AIWB.
I have been carrying AIWB for a while now, and it has taken a certain amount of adjustment. I have found it takes a stiffer belt and sometimes you will have to offset your belt a bit so the stiffer portion is where you want it to be. BUT AIWB conceals extremely well with a light t-shirt and a full size M&P.

Holsters are so unique to the individual, it's hard to say.BCGlocker wrote:Do you have to buy two different holsters for each carry method?
A dedicated AIWB holster may have specific features (tuck pads, etc) that make it unsuitable for strong side IWB.
Conversely, I would find a Crossbreed nearly impossible to use AIWB.
No... you don't "have to", but, I'd bet you'd be better served by 2 holsters for those 2 purposes.

Re: AIWB and IWB Holsters
I have a hybrid leather/kydex holster (White Hat Holsters from the great state of Texas) and then I have my AIWB holster (Zorn Skinny Rig with soft belt loop). I think the holsters serve two completely different purposes. I don't use my Zorn to carry at 3:30, although it could. My hybrid, I don't think I could even use that for AIWB. That being said, there are a few holsters out there that could be used for both, but I find it best to use the holster for the purpose it was designed for.
Keep calm and carry.
