Re: Jade Helm 15, Walmart store closings, martial law etc
I'm not a fan of our out of control Federal government but the Walmart/Jade Helm stuff just doesn't make logical sense. In the first place, if there is ever a roundup of Americans it's not going to be announced beforehand whether it's represented as a drill or not. It would be shrouded in secrecy from start to finish with denial of everything after the fact. In the second place, there is no way they'd take those rounded up to a Walmart because it would be too public. They'd be headed to secure government facilities and away from any prying eyes. Finally, Jade Helm is a SF exercise, and those in SF are far more likely to have traditional American values and be on the side of the Constitution than facilitate an illegal act.
As far as Walmart goes....yeah, they're lying about the reasons for the closings, and the reason given is transparently absurd....so either it is retaliation for labor organizing as some speculate, or they're closing unprofitable stores (they do have a habit of cannibalizing their own store revenues in order to drive out local competition).

Yeah, until someone comes up with a plausible "why", I'm not going to lose sleep over it.VMI77 wrote:I'm not a fan of our out of control Federal government but the Walmart/Jade Helm stuff just doesn't make logical sense.

I think this is very serious. I don't think it is necessarily about martial law, but more about dealing with a domestic insurgency. What could cause a huge domestic insurgency is fodder for heated debate, but I don't like the idea of this operation one bit.

How about ISIS camps near our southern border?karder wrote: I think this is very serious. I don't think it is necessarily about martial law, but more about dealing with a domestic insurgency. What could cause a huge domestic insurgency is fodder for heated debate,...........
How about just a small fraction of the ten million plus illegals here turn out to be terrorists.?
10,000,000 x 0.05% (five 100ths of 1 percent = 0.0005) = 5,000 = Brigade strength = 5-6 Battalions (appx)
Not hard to imagine needing to conduct military operations inside the USA.
What a coup that would be for our enemies. No tin foil required.

If you want to look at it as something other than what it is purported to be let me suggest an alternative interpretation. SF are more likely to be friends of the Constitution than enemies. SF operates outside the normal military command structure. The military is non monolithic. In the less senior ranks that haven't been culled by this administration there are many that harbor concerns about what is going on and many that are loyal to the Constitution and not the institution. IOW, who are loyal Americans. Another possible interpretation that will never be uttered publicly is that some within the SF have and are considering the response to an extra-legal top down anti-Constitutional coup. There have long been rumors that some of the senior officers The One has purged refused to carry out illegal orders. I'd be much more concerned about drills involving corrupt Federal agencies like DEA and BATF than anything to do with SF.karder wrote:http://www.statesman.com/news/news/loca ... cou/nkz4w/

I just don't believe that any administration has the kind of lock on the military that would be needed to suppress large domestic opposition --but especially this administration. Such a move would risk serious conflict within the military and threaten the very sort of tyrannical imposition they sought to effect far more than any resistance from the population at large. Obama hasn't yet done enough damage to the military to take such a risk.

And as you alluded to earlier, our open border is an invitation to invasion on a small scale and attack by non-State enemies. It is beyond naive to believe that a porous open border like our southern border is not going to be crossed by our enemies --it's just a matter of when.RoyGBiv wrote:Agree!VMI77 wrote:If you want to look at it as something other than what it is purported to be let me suggest an alternative interpretation. I am sure somewhere out in the world there are formidable forces conspiring to take away as many freedoms and liberties from us as they can and impose tyranny and oppression upon us.SkipB wrote:Get me some tinfoil. The world is coming to an end and the military is coming to take our guns.LOL
It ain't gonna happen.

Jade Helm 15 is a massive domestic counterinsurgency operation involving the entire SF community and private organizations...but a State Guard commander is going to keep tabs on it?

I thought more of Abbott.
Maybe I'm missing the logic of this move?
