There was discussion in another thread (Oklahoma CHL saves cop's life) about shooting an assailant who is beating a victim in close quarters. If I happened upon this scene, I would either lower a shoulder into this maniac's chest and hit him square at a full linebacker sprint. Or I would put two rounds in his chest and one in his head. Depending on totality of circumstances.

That was hard to watch. If I were there I swear I would of unloaded on that animal.

Depends on what would be fastest in eliminating the threat to the child: putting rounds center mass or (if close enough) knocking him off that child. Each stomp is a deadly threat. Deadly force is certainly warranted.
What also concerns me is the amount of people who take no action. In a self-defense situation, don't expect good samaritans right away. It usually takes one or two before the rest of the public will respond (kind of like sheep).

Glad the baby survived.
