Another Orphan Followed Me Home.....

Brand new in box never been fired LEFT-HANDED Benelli Super Black Eagle II, in 12 Gauge.

DFW Skeet Guys..... you will come to fear me....... at least until I figure out the manual of arms on this baby. I'm having a little trouble figuring out which of the two possible models I have. They offer 26" and a 28" barreled models in the left-handed version. Using a measuring tape and measuring outside the barrel from the muzzle to the breach face, it measures 27-1/4". Maybe Luigi got into the grappa a little too much on the day they cut my barrel? It also comes with 4 criochokes (mine has 5th one in the gun) and a choke wrench, as well as instructions and matching pictures written, put together, and edited by a 3rd grade dropout from Corfu.

My chokes are labelled:
  • "STEEL SHOT-OK-IC-****" with 4 corresponding notches on the muzzle-end, is installed in the gun
  • "STEEL SHOT-OK-M-***" with 3 corresponding notches on the muzzle-end
  • "NO STEEL SHOT-IM-**" with 2 corresponding notches on the muzzle-end
  • "STEEL SHOT OK-CL-*****" with 5 corresponding notches on the muzzle-end
  • "NO STEEL SHOT-F-*" with 1 corresponding notch on the muzzle-end
I am assuming that they are, in order: Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, Cylinder, and Full. But I am used to having a Skeet choke for my O/U. Can anyone tell me if one of these would correspond roughly to a Skeet choke, or do I need to pony up for one specifically marked "Skeet"?

Anyway, I love this shotgun. I've had my eye on it for nearly 2 years, while it languished unloved in the shop my son works in, waiting for someone like me that could overlook its irregularities for the beauty of its action.

TAM, Maybe the Italians measure barrels like boats. If a boat is 16'2" it becomes a 17 footer. Some even measure around the gunnel instead of center line. "rlol"
It's over 27" so it has to be a 28". If it makes you as good as C-dub I'll definitely look at the Benelli line. :biggrinjester:
