I was notified that my CHL was mailed out today (10 week wait since mailing the application).

I look forward to contributing here when it would be constructive. I have never had a CHL before, but I have a fairly broad range of experience with different firearms. And I am an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment. My family comes from east Texas (Lufkin, Dayton, Tarkington Prairie ranging from 90-150 years ago). I settled in Austin after traveling around quite a bit.

I've been a member of thehighroad.org, thefiringline.com, gunsnet.net, falfiles.com, gunboards.com and other forums since about 2001 or so with this same handle (which is a splice of my degree at UT {Geology} and my real life name's initials).

If there is anything that I can assist you with, let me know. I work for one of the larger companies here in Austin and I keep some of their IT systems running, along with writing new operations programs for the employees. If you need any help with tech or computer related issues, let me know and I'll try to help.

Regards,
Jason

Welcome Jason,

You've come to the right place for Texas CHL info.
Plenty of real authorities here and also a great bunch of folks.
After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring.
He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.
The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

Welcome. Glad you're here.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

Howdy, GeoJAP!
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

Remember Newton and Azrak.

Yay, more Austin people!

We're having a shoot tomorrow and IDPA shooting on Sunday, and you're invited to attend. I sent you a PM about it. You can also just go to this thread:
