Obama admin asserts dominion over creeks, streams, & puddles

Post by VMI77 »

President Obama’s administration on Wednesday claimed dominion over all of America’s streams, creeks, rills, ditches, brooks, rivulets, burns, tributaries, criks, wetlands — perhaps even puddles — in a sweeping move to assert unilateral federal authority.

The Environmental Protection Agency, along with the Army Corps of Engineers, says it has the authority to control all waterways within the United States — and will exercise that authority.

When I see the term "enforce", I see the root of that word as force. To apply force requires human beings who are armed, as most on this forum understand. Somehow I am doubting the ability of the EPA to actually enforce this thing in any sort of comprehensive manner. I imagine they will try high profile selective enforcement along with intimidation tactics and a huge propaganda campaign. Also, I have already seen some talk about suing the Feds over this, which will tie it up in the courts. Sounds to me like the man currently occupying the WH is attempting to cement his "legacy" and that in some span of time, quite a bit of it will be undone. He just wants his name in the books for this or that, and to help out his cronies, of course.

True, but their army isn't wearing black or fatigues. Their army wears suits and carry briefcases. They can take your money and freeze all your accounts.

Does this mean that they will come dig my tank out in the summer when it goes dry so it will hold water year round?

Of course not but now they will probably try to say may land is a swamp or marsh because it is under water and no more livestock because their poop contaminates the delicate eco system that consists of crawdads and turtles.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

I've already seen Inhofe of Oklahoma come out against this. I'm hoping he'll pick up enough like-minded types to cause a big stink about it. The current admin is hoping this will fly under the radar, you can bet on that.

Enforcement will definitely be selective. No enforcement whatsoever on friends of the regime. I imagine one use will be to steal property the Feds want for whatever reason and can't get through eminent domain. And of course it will be used to attack regime enemies.

Reminds me of that supposed "border dispute" between Texas and Oklahoma, along the river bank, and how the feds tried to jump in. Betcha they're gonna try to spank both states for defying "federal ahthoritah."
