They found photographs and video tapes first. The photos were the PC needed for the other stuff. He shoulda lived in Wylie. He would have gotten away with it then...

I am curious how a search warrant to find guns relates to a computer search - perhaps the police thought he was hiding a P3AT or a Bersa in his hard drive?

Perhaps, but this is not the way story reads to me. If that was the case then they should have written the story that the maintenance man saw child pornography in the guys apartment and alerted police. I would be applauding the maintenance guy and media for reporting that. But the way the story is written insinuates that the reason police were contacted was because guns were observed in the guys apartment. How would you feel if the police showed up at your door with a search warrant because a maintenance person told them that they saw guns in your apartment?

It is all about your source. Channel 4 reported yesterday morning at 5:30 th emaintenance guy found whaty looked like an arsenal (including an illegal missle launcher) and what appeared to be child porn pictures.

I think the story that played on the news said there were grenades (found to be hollowed out) as well. I also *THINK* they said he was from or coming back from Saudi Arabia???

You guys should be getting into good shape. Lots of "jumping to conclusions" in this thread.

Remember that the media is notorious for mis-reporting. We really have no idea how this went down.

The article first quoted in this thread was written yesterday before 1700. I saw a 1800 news report on TV yesterday that indicated that it was unknown if the pornography in the apt was child porn or not. It also said that the weapons were the reason for the warrant.

There are several ways this could have gone down, and no way for any of us to really know.

There could have been a second warrant obtained based on observed material in the apartment.

In TMPA leases, management is allowed access during reasonable hours, and ANY time for emergencies or maintenance issues that cannot be left to wait.
