I don't think I've ever read a "news article" with fewer details.

"The shooting range planned to return to business as usual on Sunday, and Stumf said the wounded student would be welcome if he wanted to come back in the future."

As a public service they should post what day that would happen so that folks know what day to not be on that range.

As people have pointed out the original news story lacked details.

But on first reading you really knew exactly what happened.

Notice this post above does not end in a question mark. The OP knows as well as you and I.

We even have a better idea how this pawn shops conducts it's gun safety training. Wow 2 whole years.

May be next time ABC13 can just write GLNDPS Florida

The gun range in the Pawn shop was a novel idea.
Actually, it was a statement and not a question. That's why I used a period.

Larry Vickers wrote: Heads up for anyone attending a pistol class taught be me – I am banning use of appendix carry holsters in my classes.

I know of two different students in two different classes taught by two different instructors who have shot themselves reholstering – I don’t want my name added to that list.

If an individual wants to carry concealed that way that is fine by me but an open enrollment class with 15-20 different skill level shooters and upwards of 100 draws and reholsters is an accident waiting to happen when you add in a pistol like a Glock or M&P.

This will go into effect immediately – if you are planning on attending a class in the near future and this affects you and you need a different holster please email me via my website and I will get you squared away.

Thanks for your support.

*Update; a number of people think this means I don’t support appendix carry – that’s not the case. You are free to carry however you want – however I feel in an open enrollment class is it not appropriate so therefore in the future I am not allowing it. If this means you don’t want to attend one of my classes, or I’m ‘scratched off your list as an instructor’, or you won’t buy anymore of my products ( all comments this thread) then that’s fine by me – in my position all that goes out the window once one student shoots themself in the genitals – all the Facebook bickering in the world won’t fix that.
Can't argue with his logic one bit. I don't currently teach any classes where that would be the situation, but sounds like a good policy to have, if I ever do.

AndyC wrote:Agreed - I've seen some scary draw-techniques from appendix-position because folks are too lazy (not immobile or crippled) to lift their arm higher during the draw to keep the muzzle straight down; the muzzle clears leather and promptly points back deeper into the person, then swings forward past the crotch again and up
True. I'd also love for somebody to post a video of an appendix draw from the sitting position without the muzzle covering some portion of the body.

Can we assume that the instructor lumped M & P's with Glocks since M & P's can be had without a manual safety?
If so, it seems he should have specified "M & P's without a manual safety."

Is there another reason I'm missing?
