I use a syringe (100ml) with a plastic tube. Cost about $3.00

Agree, but that's a lot of syringes for a gallon of oil!

I guess I didn't make myself clear.
It's not the amount of oil in the various items, but the giant pain of having to fight with them to get the oil out. Ever lifted a Honda mower or power washer while the old oil drains out of the dipstick hole and maybe spills because of the extreme awkwardness? No? Trust me, you don't want to experience it.
BTW, I just used my new extractor and it works beautifully.
One of the best features is it's ability (with the flip of a valve lever) to also dispense the old oil into a recyclable container.
I didn't spill a single drop of oil.
What a pleasure.
Some of other equipment come with drain plugs, i.e. generator, brush grinder, zero turn mower, but it's still simpler/cleaner operation to use the extractor.
