This is just done in bad taste. This is not the way to educate the public about the 2nd Amendment. This sort or action makes it hard for the rest of the law abiding gun owners. Its starts problems and pushes those that are already anti-gun further away from the possibility of understanding. I think there is a right way and wrong way to exercise constitutional rights. This is the wrong way in my opinion.

Still no video. I find it hard to believe someone didn't have a cell phone.

Slung or holstered, even relatively poorly maintained guns very rarely go off unexpectedly unless you're coonfingering them. Unnecessarily loading and chambering around others in a non-range-type environment without a true safe direction is just asking for trouble.
It is Mississippi.
OK, so maybe no teeth or non-sibling spouses, (except interspecies couples) but they still have cell phones.

Even in Mississippi, the Walmarts have video surveillance.

Would be interesting to see that's for sure.

Hey guys,

been on vacay for a week.
I actually did a bit of research on this one, because....well, I've...ummm, spent some time in this particular Wally World. Soooo, here's my thoughts on this here event. Notice if you would in the SunHerald article "Holton Wade Saucier, 19, of Saucier", this guy comes from an old family. Saucier is his name and the name of a small rural area my aunt lived in, absolute heaven! I mean, I come from an old family in that area, but this kid has connections! The other kid's name sounds familiar, but I can't place it. This is an old area, names, heritage, connections are a thing there. Note that it took days for someone to come up with something to charge these fools with.
Next, if anyone in that WM thought they were in any kind of danger, these idiots would have been drawn on, esp if my cousins had been there. Apparently, no one did, I'm surprised, but it sort of sounds like they were talking a lot, too.

This is all just a lot of guess work and reading between the lines. I am NOT saying these idiots didn't deserve to be charge with something more, I'm just saying this is how it works there.

Hey Sew, that actually makes sense. I grew up outside a small town of 3,084 people myself. I know of old family names, old money, imbedded tradition, etc, etc. With what you say, they could be the town bullies, given a LOT of leeway because of their name. Sort of like a strange backwards kind of priviledged class.

Almost sounds like it came out of a movie, doesn't it?

Thanks for the insight! :tiphat:

This was a single, likely isolated, incident that provided the media and anti-gunners with a wealth of propaganda to use against the millions of law-abiding responsible gun owners. It is so frustrating when people either cannot or will not acknowledge that inflammatory acts are harmful to the Second Amendment cause. Those in the other camp use isolated incidents to convince those who have not taken a position on gun control that these irresponsible people are representative of all gun owners. It's a lie, but lies sell.

I think drawing in a situation like this would just make a bad situation worse (unless there's a direct threat). Getting clear of the line of fire and hanging around to be a witness to the police that someone is an idiot would be the best course of action.
