I loath practical jokes, pranks or whatever you care to call them. Causing others pain just isn't funny to me.

I think I have a fine sense of humor, but it's never funny to see even staged anguish.

How would it have worked out if the same type thing was done to a cop - guess how that scenario would work out...think the cop/cops would have a sense of humor if the tables were turned? Think they'd ever dream up a vignette where a citizen does something similar to them?

Fat chance.

No, they wouldn't have a sense of humor if they were the subject of such a scenario, they'd arrest and jail the so-called prankster. Right now, no waiting.

What makes me especially disgusted is how those in authority find even acting like Gestapo agents to be humorous. The disproportion in authority between a citizen and police is not something to take lightly. Brutalizing a citizen just isn't funny. Even staged it's troubling.

If you think it is - think a little harder.

I thought it was hilarious, showing that cops are people too. Helps you to appreciate them more, in my opinion.

Regardless of what others try to dictate & without apology, I will laugh at what I think is funny. Political correctness is just another word for oppression. Some people look for humor, while some for reasons to be offended.

"rlol" Clearly staged by all involved, not a prank. But it's still hilarious.

I love when they drive off how they are all shooting in the air... I know it violates the4 laws but Guardians of the Galaxy violates the laws of physics... but I can suspend belief for a while ;)

So I can understand some folks aren't finding this funny, and even perceived it as offensive. Likewise, I don't like seeing jokes, skits and like being performed about Jesus Christ and simply turn the channel. However, I don't want to control those that generate that kind of stuff. Cut the guys some slack that think this is foolishness, maybe they have close ties to law enforcement.

Well put Texas_Blaze and thanks.

That's why I posited this post with the comment I really do support PD. In fact my great uncle was a Deputy Sheriff in El Paso when his patrol car was struck by a train and he was killed. I also have many relatives that have served as firefighters, police, Army, Navy and Marines. I get it. This was clearly not a prank, I detest pranks.

So I apologize for any angst or upset I generated.

Wow. Lighten up a bit. If you only knew the pranks we in LE play on each other. It helps us cope with the death and evil we encounter on the job.

Okay Nightmare69. Apparently you are in the biz so I have to ask... After watching Cops TV show and seeing reports in real life how in the world do you all deal with so much "stupidity" day in and day out? I get dealing with the evil and bad side of people but man some of those people have got to be dumber than a sack of hammers!

You have to have thick skin and take everything with a grain of salt. Having the good Lord on your side is a must. I've looked into a few people's eyes and swear they were possessed. I seriously try to help people but some don't want anything but a confrontation. Those quickly get put in the box. I've been called everything in the book but one woman called me a "under the wire baby". I still to this day have no idea what it means but I like it. It's is the greatest job on the planet and my goal is to become a school resource officer.

I always wanted to be a Texas Ranger. Wearing the Cinco Peso seemed to me to be the top of the world. They get to do some really detailed investigations on a huge variety of cases. Plus, you get to wear your BBQ rig when you get enough seniority. :woohoo

Best of luck on your plans. Getting the job you love means never having to work another day in your life.

O.K.

Let's do a role reversal and see how that gladdens your heart.

A violent criminal gets the drop on a cop or group of cops, disarms them and threatens to assassinate all.

They start quaking in their boots - until he laughs and says: Only kidding, here are your pistols, no hard feelings, eh?

Gosh, wouldn't that be hilarious too?

No?
