If a 9mm is for women and pansies (I like the picture txinvestigator!), then what are you if you carry a .38 Spl +P or .357 Mag???
Just curious, because I've carried both.

Personally, I would not like to be shot with a 38, 9mm or anything, even a 22 short.

i switch out between my 9mm and .45. the .357 magnum is the backup to either of them. the .38 special protects the home.
my magnum loads are 145 grains. my 9mm loads are 147 grain. and my .45 loads are 230. i prefer the heavier bullets regardless of caliber.
for that matter, my .223 loads are 68 grain.

I would not feel undergunned with any caliber of modern defense ammo. I have carried .38, .357, 9mm, .40 and now .45.
I just happened to find a platform that works extremely well for me, and I am part of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality, so I stick with the 1911 now that I have had success with it. ;)

Tx...I agree. It is always best to use what is second nature. I had to adjust to carrying an auto...I did the snub nose revolver bit for a long time.
I have carried my 1911 a time or two and worried constantly that I was going to blow my behind off...I realize that this is silly because I carry a Glock which is basically in the same "cocked and locked" position, you just can't see the hammer.
When shooting my .45 I have very slow follow-up shots and poor placement......so I just stick with the good ole 9mm and continue to practice with both.

I hope no one took this thread seriously, A little friendly ribbing is good for the soul or was that my heart.... whatever .....
I love to shoot my .45 but I like shooting the 9mm and the .40 as well.
