If you mess with feds, you are toast. He commited a bigger crime at the federal level :woohoo

I really wonder if that photo is of the suspect in this case? I suspect that it is one made up. Early news reports I heard said the guy was carrying a Glock.

The (original/basic) EEA Witness pistols are clones of the CZ's, though it seems to me that EEA released a .45ACP version before CZ, and the Witness is also available in 10mm. EEA has taken the Witness lineup far further than CZ of late, producing a line of polymer pistols and a series of race-ready pistols that have a fairly large following in gaming circles. The Witness pistols also have interchangeable slide/barrel assemblies for changing the caliber. I used to own a Witness compact with 9mm and .40 slide/barrel assemblies.
