Armed, fake federal LEO arrested in Collin Co. Sheriffs Ofc

Here's another story of a civilian impersonating a federal LEO.

This guy is 27 years old. In the 8/5/09 Dallas Morning News story, it stated
that this guy was arrested "in the Austin area" <no further detail> about year
2000 for impersonating a LEO. That means he was only about 18 the first time
he tried this, or at least the 1st time he got arrested for it. That case was
dismissed. He should really get spanked badly this time.

For bonus points, all you gunmen out there:
What is the brand and model of pistol in the holster on the photo accompanying this story,
in the above link??

At least they caught him before he went out on patrol and kicked down doors with them for 2 weeks... not like that would ever happen...

It's a double stack 9mm (or .40), but, I cannot tell the make. Possibly a CZ?

It's almost like a non-gun...........
A artist's rendition of a pistol that is not any particular make.

BTW, it is not illegal for me or or any other CHL to walk into the Collin County SO armed. But it is for a Felon and of course one would not want to impersonate a LEO. I just point this out as being the "Alarmist" attitude of the writer of the article.

I wonder if he is enjoying his extended interview with the inmate?

It looks to me like some variant of the EEA Witness - perhaps the polymer framed full size?

But it presently is illegal to open-carry, which the guy was apparently doing.

I have seen alot of TV LEO's that only flash an official-looking ID card with no evidence of a badge.

If it is on TV, it must be accurate.

That's pretty crazy. Imagine if they hadn't received that warning about an impersonator walking around. The fact that there was a warning out makes me think that this wasn't the first department he walked into and did this. He may have done it before and raised the suspicion of the local cops who called DHS and found out he was fake.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.

I missed the logo. Isn't the EEA sort of a CZ knockoff, BTW?

On an interesting side note, the man did not commit a STATE crime by claiming to be a federal agent. The law on impersonating a public servant only applies to state and political subdivisions of the state. Of course, the Feds will want to talk to him about it, and it might help them that he was a felon in possession of a firearm. They will claim to be enforcing gun laws with this one.
