Except that brass is soft, and cartridge casings are relatively thin. The bit would have to be rally dull to heat up that much before it punched through.

No kidding... some people's common sense just defies logic... why not use a bullet puller then reseat the bullet... much easier.

Just squirt a little WD40 on it.
It will kill the primer and neutralize the powder....
At least that's what the experts tell you :roll:
