I love the LCP. Agree it's not the most fun to shoot but tolerable. With Pierce extensions on the clip shooting 50 rounds at the range is no problem and the trade offs are great. With the CT it gets on target quick and pretty accurately for such a small pistol. There is no problem carrying in the front or back pocket. Personally I like carrying it in a Kholster when I'm wearing shorts. You don't have to keep pulling them up and you can't see it under a t-shirt.

Might want to try a Sig Sauer P238 .380, really great little gun. All metal, no plastic miniature 1911. I'm 110% pleased with mine.

Also is a very well built and great looking in the two tone with dark wood grips(thats the one I have)

I too like the larger calibers. However, for occasions when I don't want the full size 1911, I bought a Polish P64 (9x18 Mak) from J&G for $150 - replaced the hammer and recoil spring and made a new trigger return spring for it. IMHO - the little P64 is one of the best values out there right now (and ammo is more readily available than .380). The gun I got is like new (made in 1971 but not shot much from what I could tell). I highly recommend the Wolf replacement springs as I described as it completely tames the factory DA trigger pull which is horrendous.

The pistol is very accurate and reliable. It is very similar to the Walther PPK. Check it out, you might like it.

Check out the Walther PPS. Available in either 9mm or .40. It is extremely thin.

I had never heard of this pistol before, but I just checked it out on-line. That looks like a sweet little gun. If I could find one of those for $150, I'd be all over that! Thanks for the tip kragluver. I'll put the p64 on my radar as it might make a cool addition to the family. All things being relatively equal, there is something cool about having a gun that everyone else doesn't have.

Yes the FEG PA-64 is a cool pistol, will eat the steel case cheap-o surplus stuff with no fuss. I think Hornady makes a good self defence round for the 9x18 Makarov caliber.

The FEG is not the same gun as the P64 - they are somewhat larger. Go here for the best website and forum regarding the P64. The P64 has a reputation as having a fearsome recoil for a small gun. After the spring change in mine, I found recoil to be sharp, but not too bad. I find recoil in most of the small lightweight guns to be "snappy".

Wow thanks for all the info. Ill check on all of them recomended. I have 2 XDs already in 3 and 4 inch 40/45 cal so the 3inch 40 cal is already small but still needs a holster. Def just looking for something in the pocket size or in my boot.

Kahr PM series in 40 or 45. Less than 1" thick and flat profile. Put one in your hand / pocket and see for yourself.

I just bought a Kahr CW40. 6.36 inches length,4.62 inches height,.94 inches slide width and weight is 16.8 ozs empty and has a 1.9oz magazine. 6 round mag plus one in the tube. I've been shooting Hornady 180grain XTP hollow points with great effect and accuracy. Recoil was less than what I would have thought and double taps are easy.Now I carry in a pocket holster a 40 cal instead of a 38 snubbie. Price was $460 plus tax.
