I am a road cyclist and use Frog Lube on my bike chain. It is a great lubricant but it breaks down pretty fast. If I use a petroleum based lube on the chain, it will last for months, but gets dirty and is hard to clean off. Conversely, the Frog Lube is very easy to wash off with just a little soap and water, but it does not last very long.

I had thought about putting it on my guns, but after using it and seeing how fast it breaks down I have thought twice. If you shoot your gun a lot and clean / oil it every time I would say that the Frog Lube is a great option. However, if you are going to let a gun sit for a few months and take it to the range you will most likely have to reapply before you shoot. It breaks down pretty quick.

I have started using Royal Purple oil in most everything I own and swear by the stuff. It is made here in Texas :txflag: by Texan's. I put it in a truck that has over 155K miles and the engine immediately was cleaned out and started to produce more power and I got better gas milage. My wife has been using it in her truck for a number of years now and I can't even think about trading it since the engine runs so perfect.

For my guns, I use their gun oil. http://www.royalpurple.com/gun-oil.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This is truly amazing. (no I don't work for them or own stock) I was given an old 1911, built in the 70's and it was having lots of stove pipes and other feed issues. New magazines did not help. This was all before I started using the Royal Purple gun oil. Once I lubed the 1911 with the RP, including the magazines all of the failed to feed and stove pipe issues went away. It works great on my Glock too.

After I give Frog Lube a workout, I'll try Royal Purple.
