Uhhhh, not really. I leave the loaded mag in the car, and take an unloaded mag with me into the show. I don't think it would set to well with the LEO's present to carry a loaded mag in with you to the gun show.

Went today. It was decent, but I live a few miles away so it was worth it. The arena is owned by the city so I carried despite their arrogance and or ignorance of the law.

So what is the difference between taking an empty mag and buying ammo there, as there was plenty to be had ?
Also is taking a loaded magazine against ANY laws ? It's not a firearm ?

Another question.. lets say you take a pistol, get it zip tied.. I saw several people carry them in holsters with signs to sell. Is that considered open carry ?

I dragged my wife their this weekend and was relatively happy with it. There wasn't anything super special about the show, but I liked that I didn't feel like I was going to be mugged on my way in or out (Mesquite) and my wife really enjoyed having a place to sit and chat on her Blackberry while I walked around drooling like an idiot. Like most of the gun shows I've been to, I didn't find any glaring deals, but my lack of funds probably didn't help that situation. If I'm in the position to buy the next time it comes around (I believe there is one scheduled for November), I'll go.

We went to the Frisco Gun Show Sunday about noon. Since we live in Frisco it's nice to be able to go to one so close. It looks like they had a big turn out, but $8.00 is a bit too high. I used to find discount coupons online but couldn't find any for this event.
The upstairs area was a bit hard to see the items with the bright sun light behind the vendor booths. The pricing was about what I would expect but I did see a great deal on a NIB, S & W, MP 40 at $375.00. That is the best price I have ever seen (except at Bud's on line) locally. I bought my MP 40 back when they 1st came out in 2006 at a Denton show for $409.00, which I though was a good price back then.
We were kinda looking for a good deal on a 243 rifle for my wife but didn't find one. It was a pretty good show but we walked out empty handed. The next one that is reasonably close is in Allen around the middle of the month which we will probably go to.

The shows I've gone to, when tieing off the gun the officer asks if I have any ammo. If I do I have to leave it with them or take it back out to the car. I've traded ammo at the shows and had to leave it up front and have a dealer come get it. I know......you have empty mags at the show and you can buy ammo at the show and certainly load the mag and then you've circumvented the policy of not carying around loaded mags. I wouldn't want to buy some ammo and then be seen loading a magazine although probably no one would notice. But it can be done and if someone is bound and determined to have a loaded gun at the gun shows then they'll find a way around all the "rules". I haven't been to a gunshow where there was an intentional shooting but I've certainly been to THREE that had a negligent discharge. In fact, one was in Frisco so I'm surprised they started having gun shows again.

I meant to go to the Frisco show but for some reason I thought it was this coming weekend.......bummer!!!!

My wife and I were in Dallas visiting our daughter and her family. We went Sunday with my son-in-law and grandson. Well, as it turned out my wife bought a new gun! She picked up a XD-40 sub-compact. It came with two mags, holster, mag carrier, speed loader, and decent case. Her negotiation skills got if for just over $400. She felt like she got a good deal so that is all that counts.

Now she tells me that a new purse is required to carry this hardware......................... :leaving
