I prefer 7 round mags for flush fit usage. To make 8 rounds fit into a flush fit 1911 mag you have to do funny things to the follower and spring, and this can (Not saying it will) compromise reliability. I have heard that CheckMate industries has an 8 round magazine that is 100% reliable, however I still will not use them for the reasons stated above. I will take 7 for sure instead of 8 maybe, and remember that with Semi-Autos reloads are easy. For the record I use CheckMate magazines almost exclusively.
