Was at Fiesta Texas for my twins' b-day. They had a Christmas thing going on.

Anyway, I had my Leatherman in my pocket, and took it out and put it in the bin. I was informed that I could either take it back to my car, or leave it with security until we left. But I couldn't take it into the park.

My keys were in the bin, too. And i was informed I could not take my little key chain Swiss army knife in, either. After this piece of assininery, I smiled at the security guy and said, "Ah, so you want to TOTALLY disarm me."

Glad they were still with security when we left at closing time.

So, if they take a keychain knife, they'd have you arrested for trying to take a gun in. And I did NOT see a 30.06 sign at the front entrance.

...then they wouldn't have arrested us...only refused us admittance...

I actually live just across the street and walk past it every day (well, by every day I mean when I get up to walk in the morning). I suppose I could mosey up to the front sometime and take a look around, no harm in that. The head over to Bass Pro to just drool around a bit.

Gotta remember to put a camera in my pocket tomorrow morning.

I'm pretty sure they have a huge 30.06 sign painted on one of the walls as you're coming in. I haven't been there in a while though.

Since the Six Flags in Arlington has a big 30.06 sign by the front gate, I'd be very surprised if the Six Flags in San Antonio didn't. After all, they are owned by the same company.

I was just at 6 flags for holiday in the park a few weeks ago...on the way in I noticed the 30.06 sign...the heading "Pursuant to 30.06..." appeared to be less than 1" tall while the rest of the text appeared to be 1" tall. :tiphat:

Even if it was not posted, they check you with metal detectors, so that would pick up your weapon. I was there with the family this summer and they were using wands then anyway. I remember looking for the signs and I did see one inside to the right of the gates by the location where you actually buy tickets.

I am almost 100% positive it is properly posted near the enterance (not the parking lot). It has been a while since I have been. We normally get season passes and make the pigramage there 3 times a year but skipped last summer due to the heat.

They have a 30.06 sign but it's posted over the exit lanes to the left instead of the entrance lanes. Lame, but still posted.

I wonder how it would go if I refused to allow them to use the wand to search me or walk through a metal detector? I have a medical implant and must be careful of magnetic fields. I can’t even get close to someone welding. :headscratch

Can you say, "Enhanced pat down?" I doubt it would be that bad, but I wouldn't put it past them at least thinking about. You would not be the first person with some kind of disability or reason to not go through the detectors or be wanded that they have seen. I'm sure they have some kind of procedure for this, but don't have any idea what it would be.

That is one reason I will not fly unless absolutely necessary. I will drive if at all possible. That way I can take my pocket knife and even carry my Kimber on the trip.

Before this latest implant, I went to the courthouse a couple of times with metal rods and screws in my back and metal anchors in my elbow. Interesting experiences at the metal detectors at the door.

I am presently being fitted for a helmet.
