I noticed Wal-Mart in Azle had Winchester white box in 100-rd boxes.

9mm was $12.27/100
.38 spl was $19.97/100

They had that in other calibers, but that's all I was pricing.
And I waitied around for service so I could buy some.
Ran across a friend at an adjacent register, who rang for a manager.
After 15 minutes I gave up and left.
I'd rather spend my money at Academy anyway, thanks

I paid 12.88 for the same box of 9mm at Wallyworld Galveston last Sunday.

You know, if WallyWorld management sees us comparing prices online, they will identify us with their retina-scans as we enter a strore, and have security usher us out.

Gander Mountain (3 locations in the Houston area) is another source with a BIG selection of different ammo. I was even suprised when I found out the three rifles I bought at Wally's could be bought at GM for less.

Today when I was looking at the ammo in the Brenham Super center the guy behind the counter told me that they are holding all there ammo until the 2 week of Jan. as the price will be going up by 10% so if the shelves look empty that's the reason I was told.

300 Shooter, I noticed that Walmart's ammo shelves at my local store look a little bare. That may explain a recent conversation I had with the clerk. I wanted some Blazer Brass in .45. He said that he had ordered 20 boxes and had only gotten 2 and wondered out loud what was going on. I bought those two boxes and they haven't had any Blazer Brass since.

Not a lot of competition here in the ArkLaTex, but I just bought a UMC "Mega Pack" of .38 Special (250 rounds) for $54.49 (minus $10 for a discount card) at Gander Mtn. That sure beats any price on non-existent WWB at our local Wally Worlds.

300shooter, I used to special order ammo at Walmart. I don't think they have any minimum (but I've been ordering in the multiple cases size). You'll have to prepay, but you'll get it very quickly and w/o any shipping cost.

At the Walmart I order from, only the manager can do special ordering. What happens is that they give me a receipt and note the order in a notebook (as in paper notebook), when the ammo arrives, they give me a call.

Went back to my local Walmart yesterday and found they had restocked their .45 ammo and had Blazer Brass again - still at $9.96 a box. Bought some yesterday....may go back today and get some more.
