Just to follow up on this. No one returned my phone call, and several days later I called them back and was able to speak with a live person. I explained what the problem was and he said that he wanted me to ship it back to them. They mailed me a UPS label and I sent the case and box back to them. A few weeks later I got a Winchester coupon to use towards a replacement box. Winchester made good on their error.

Now a side story about my trip to Walmart today to buy a box of WWB .40 using said coupon
After getting into the store, I saw 2 employees standing at the ammo case complaining that someone had left the lock off the ammo case and their store's management not seeming to care. The one employee made a comment about the CT shooting, saying "here we go, another CT shooting in the works"

because anyone could just reach into the ammo case and take whatever they wanted. About this time, another person had walked up behind me wanting to also buy ammo. The employees told me and him to just reach in and grab what we wanted.
After I got my ammo they told me to wait there while the other guy got his.

They told me it that because the register in sporting goods wasn't open, that they needed to escort us over the the tire and lube center to pay for the ammo. Now, I've had to go there before to buy ammo, but I've never "had" to be escorted. I asked why I had to be escorted there because I wasn't done shopping. The lady told me that it was their store policy to not allow customers to walk through the store without first paying for ammo, just like you have to pay for electronics in that department.

I told her that as soon as I pay for it, I'm going to be walking through the store with the ammo anyways, she said that as long as I paid for it first that was ok.
Well, me and the other person stood there for awhile while the tire and lube cashier very slowly rang up other people in front of us.

During this time, 2 other people were escorted to T&E to pay for their ammo. One guy just wondered off and the 2nd one asked us why we had to pay there, that he never before had to. He walked back to see if the other register was opened yet, which it wasn't. He then said that he was going to pay upfront whether or not they like it.
By this time, I was next in line and was about to be checked out, so I didn't go to the front. After ringing up my order, I presented the cashier with Winchester's coupon. She looked at it and said "what is this?" I told her it was a coupon. She looked at the back where it asks for the store to fill out their address and gives them instructions on how to redeem it. She tries to hand it back to me, telling me that it's a rebate and that I was supposed to mail it to them. I corrected her and told her that it's just like any other coupon that their store takes, and that the person working the cash office will fill it out and send it in so Walmart can be reimbursed. She canceled my order and said she'd have to call a manager because she's never seen anything like this before. I told her to ring up the guy who was waiting behind me so he could buy his ammo. I told her that if the sporting goods register had been open, I'm sure that person would have seen a coupon before. She kept looking at the coupon and finally rang up the order again and tendered the coupon as a vendor coupon, then I paid the balance. She said that she hopes she doesn't get in trouble.
I'm glad that I'm off work today and wasn't in a hurry. I almost wish after all of this, I had $2 bills to pay with...I bet that would have sent her over the edge.
