They want my guns? They can come and take them.

They already have a few bills sitting in committe one of which is a firearms registration bill. The other is a high capacity ammunition feeding device ban and of course their holy grail AWB. There is a woman on youtube that does a good job outlining these bills her channel name is RURdy4It. Most of the measures they have are in nothing to do with this shooting and would not have preveted it in any way.

I like that, collapsable stock, thirty round magazine, bayonet lug... you may want to add a "sniper scope" which allows it to be a deadly weapon from two miles away.

Also, where is the shoulder thing that goes up?

I'm waiting for it to come out on how rich ur government personnel got from the boost in gun sales..

Surely Obama, Biden, Clinton, etc own stocks related to companies nuthatches profited from gun sales.

This is where I am and it is getting me labeled as an extremist by some of my family. For those of you that know me (nobody here I don't think), that is a pretty serious charge to level against ol' mild mannered me. My heels are dug in, I am not willing to concede a single inch.

Excellent.

There is a vast number of....how shall I put this politely....idjits...out there who hold to the thought that compromise is what we need to do. They adhere to some sort of common ground concept.

No compromise.

The only common ground is that the second amendment means what it says. No infringement.

I am in complete agreement with anygun on this one. I am not willing to concede one <darn> thing. I can agree with the president on one thing that he has said. It's time to do something meaningful to prevent these tragedies in the future. It's time to give teachers the tools to protect their students.

The onus is not on me to tell the left why I "need" a scary looking black rifle. The onus is on them to tell me how stopping law abiding citizens from owning them does anything to make our schools safer. If you are looking to do something "meaningful" it means that you have to at least be able to articulate how your actions will actually do something to prevent the slaughter of innocents.

You think they're actually dumb enough to put this on the front burner considering what happened to them in the election cycle following the '94 AWB?

My guess is any gun-related legislation will be packaged with a huge mental health assistance rubber check.

And the immediate strategy for the House should be to strip all of the gun legislation out of the bill and pass it. Then, the gun grabbers would have to defend the removed parts on their own merit.

IMHO all that will be done to control guns will be done by Executive Order. The POTUS has nothing to lose, and this lets all the Dems in Congress off the hook, re-election wise. Most will be challenged in court, but I believe that most, if not all, of what is ordered might stand. Again, just MHO.

Does anybody here, in the aftermath of the dastardly, inexcusable, heinous murders of innnocent children, et al, with registered guns in CT, recall the SCOTUS' ruling on Obamacare? All it will take is a HIGH TAX on our shootin' stuff to kill our 2A rights. What good is any gun without ammunition...or bayonets?

Say, adjust the $200 transfer tax from 1934 dollars to 2012 dollars (~$3500) and reclassify any semi to fall under title 2/class III? :grumble
