with bumbling joe in charge we have some small level of hope.
but ... is this just a ploy to reduce the current gun sale rage?
lets face it noone could be nor has done more to put guns in the hands of the american people then those who continue to try to defet/defy the supream law of the land.
the more they fight the more ringing registers will happen, the bigger fight it will become.

After the smoke clears and the music stops, $5 USD, says there will be a large cap magazine ban and a 5-10 day waiting period for new gun purchases. If that is all it is, I'll be tickled. Rest assured, y'all, the piper will be paid - one way or another.

dollars are no more then shares of what will become defunct debt. but yes i do think it will. i lived in cali it was a 14day wait. guess thet will do away with impulse buying.
im still a little lost though after all gun sales create jobs.

I would think any mandatory waiting period will be devastating for gun shows. I would also assume that if the above measures were passed it would also include a requirement of FFL evolvement (NICS) for private sales.

It is not our bill...why should we concede to pay the piper. That bill belongs to the mental health workers and the wretches that passed the gun free school zone (as if paper stops bullets). Law abiding men and women should not be held to account for the actions of madmen.

That may be what happens but we should fight hand tooth and nail the whole way. A waiting period and a large cap magazine ban will do NADA to protect anyone. We may go down, but "do not go quietly into that good night.....rage rage against the dying of the light". I am still slightly hopeful that the constituents and the NRA will take a 2x4 to some senators and representatives heads.

I hope this does not become reality but if a waiting period were implemented maybe someone on the hill would be smart enough to include an exemption for CHL. Think CHL applications would go through the roof?

Agree with first part...as to requirement for FFL involvement in private sales, I don't think so...even if they legislate it, there's no way to track private transactions for existing firearms and enforce it without actual gun registration showing individual ownership by serial number and issuing "title" to each firearm like a vehicle, and there's no way to do that for the millions of privately owned firearms already out there.

I meant to say private sales at gun shows.

Oldgringo,

I don't think that the NRA is going to concede those things without a tremendous fight. If we loose on those points, we are on the path to loosing all in short order. The next time something happens, the liberals will be back at the trough wanting to get something else and the sequence will repeat itself until we are left with .177 air rifles with a muzzle velocity under 710 fps like the Brits. What happened at that school is very sad, especially since the adults had no way to defend themselves or the children. The bravery of those adults that sacrificed themselves to try to protect the children should not be in vain. If they could be brought back to life for a "do over", I would be willing to take that $5 bet that they would have wished that they had a pistol to protect the children. It is time for us to stand and fight on these matters. The insanity of the progressives must be contained.

I would ask that all of us think about not posting that we are will to accept any small concessions to our current laws as they may be used in some form or fashion against us in the future. If it does nothing else but get someone else to think that loosing those things is acceptable in an attempt to preserve something else, the progressives have won another small victory.

I concede ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Don't let "Bumbling Joe" fool you. All the heavy lifting will be done by fervent crusading radical staffers.

Holder is the one leading the fight on this. He has no problem circumventing congress and thumbing his nose at the Rule of Law.
