Last year, I bought a Windham Weaponry SRC. Then proceeded to look at all the available optics.
I get that the holographics are cool, and really great on close running zombies. But mostly I target shoot and hunt. My eyes aren't as good as they once were, so I need a little magnification. I couldn't get my mind around a spending the money for an EOTech plus a magnifier.
I ended up buying the Primary Arms 3X Compact Illuminated Scope http://blog.primaryarms.com/2012/02/pri ... nated.html It gives me the ability to shoot out to 150 yards, which I understand is about as far as you want to shoot at a deer, due to loss of impact velocity -- see http://www.americanhunter.org/blogs/223 ... er-hunting

Re: AR 15 magnification question
So I ended up purchasing it but with 5x magnification. Needless to say, it's worth it. The slide to side mount is a bit on the sketchy side, but it's functional. Only issue I've had is that I can't seem to quite line up the holographic sight directly in the middle of the magnifier. It's slightly off and doesn't really bother me. All in all, it makes a huge difference and I say it's well worth $110. Some people I've seen complain about the focus, but i don't think they realized there's a focus knob where you look into it.Wes wrote:I've been considering it myself, if you get it let us know what you think
