Sorry, slight thread drift here. I've built several lowers and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't even know they made polymer hammers. Seems like I'd be worried about the durability of a polymer hammer. Who makes them?

I have a dedicated .22lr AR-15 and one of the best things I have done to it was to add a Better Mag adapter to allow it to take S&W M&P 15-22 magazines. It also gives it the bolt hold open after the last shot, so that the CMMG operates like my 5.56. Since adding this to my rifle, I prefer my CMMG over my son's M&P 15-22.

New Frontier Arms their lowers come with polymer parts inside hammer and all same as plum crazy when they did theirs. Probably all polymers lowers that come complete have them. I have seen and used them for 1k's of rounds and never had an issue but I rather have metal myself.

On side note I couldnt wait till tomorrow and went by academy to pick up some 22LR well they had no large quantity packs which I wasnt really looking for any cause wanted to buy several 50rd packs to try different brands in case one brand gave any trouble. Put 200 rds down it and not one single problem or hiccup, it shot perfect. 150 of the rds were standard velocity which I wasnt sure about and worried they might not cycle cause most seem to have issues with them and need high velocity. 50 rds were magtech, 50 rds aguila, 50 rds remington and 50 rds aguila (high velocity) it spit them all out no problems. You could tell difference on the standard and high but it was just as accurate and cycled perfect with the standard. I put in on a lower I built long time ago, not sure if will just swap out uppers on it or end up getting a polymer lower and put steel hammer in it. I can trade some stuff to a friend for an NFA polymer lower but will have to get a steel hammer, just havent decided yet. Overall if anyone is wondering on this upper I say give it a go, by the way I was considering one of the Mossberg 715's and I must say I'm so glad I didn't go that way now. Another guy was there at the range and came over asking me about the gun cause he could tell I was shooting 22 and not having any issues. He had a 715 and said it would jam every 3rd shot and had tons of issues with it.
