I have an SVI infinity 1911 in 45 ACP, I am trying to sell on gunbroker. It is $4500 new with wait of 1yr. I am asking a firm $3,000.
It is the best and most accurate pistol of my collection

If I gave you my money, what would you buy me and why (and convince me to increase my budget if I need to)?
Dan Wesson Valor Duty Coat and a 500 round case of Federal American Eagle 230gr FMJ to break it in :cheers2:

I know a thing about 1911s

If you are patient, you might be able to find a nice used Wilson Combat CQB, but it may take a while to find one.

You might be able to find an Ed Brown Special Forces for that price too.

Either of these three will serve you well.

Get this one for $560: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/prod ... Z+9+4.25+9

Then you have $1,640 left over for one of these:

Plus a couple of boxes of ammo for it.

Let me second the suggestion to get a less expensive gun until you know what the differences are and can tell on your own.

But, if I had that kind of budget, I would get a Springfield Armory that I would then have them run through their customizing shop to get exactly what I wanted (well, almost - I think the last time I priced it out, it came to around 2500).

Nighthawk's are very nice, easily on par with Wilson and Ed Brown.

Again, like Wilson's, unless you are patient, you will not find a Nighthawk for $2200. You might, and if you do, be confident in your purchase.

I was going to say something similar. However, my suggestion was to buy a higher-end Springfield, and use a good chunk of the remaining money on ammo for practice. Because no matter how good the firearm is, it is only as good as the operator (not counting VERY low end junk like a Jennings  ).

If you want a Colt, I have like new Colt Gold Cup Match 1911, made in 1980 and it is still in the box. I would sell it for $2250. If you are interested let me so I can post pics.

Don't buy a Kimber...

I think http://www.rogersprecision.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; makes some of the best looking 1911s out there.

Others I would consider: Nighthawk, Ed Brown, WC, STI.
