K.Mooneyham wrote:So many problems with that article. Just the phrase "gun lobby" alone irritates me to no end. Also, the anecdote about her son makes me think that someone should have been teaching their kid firearms safety instead of over-reacting against inanimate objects, albeit objects that are potentially dangerous. Would she have been against motorcycles if her young son had hopped onto a running sport-bike and revved it up? And though I think what happened to her husband was a terrible crime, it was just that, a crime. Penalizing the average firearms owner makes not one bit of difference to a nutjob or criminal.
I notice that the article steered clear of mention of Brady's injury, and the statement that he made shortly after he started to recover, that he was still against gun control and that new laws would not have prevented Hinkley from doing what he did. The tale of her son picking up a gun from the seat of a pickup truck, besides the fact that leaving a gun out like that was already a violation of the laws of the State of Virginia, was only added later and smells kind of like that newsman who claimed to have been under fire and others like it, merely a tale made up to justify a position.

I have none, nor does she deserve any mercy or regard whatsoever. Everything she stood for, everything she said, did, and tried to advocate was an outright lie for one sole purpose. To illegally or unconstitutionally eliminate the civil rights of the american public regardless of what the founding laws of this nation, specifically the Bill Of Rights, expressly forbid.
No one with an agenda such as that and by the lies, deceptions, and obfuscations of the truth such as she engaged in deserves any mercy of any kind. My only hope is when she finally meets her Creator, she is finally forced to face the truth of the lies she espoused for 30+ decades.
Some may claim she deserves regard given what happened to her, I don't agree with that as she had a choice in front of her. Make the morally courageous choice in terms of facing the truth of what happened or fail to do so. She failed and took the easy way out, hence what she advocated for 30+ years. It is the actions of a moral coward.
Suzanne Gratianna Hupp paid a far more dear price under far more horrifying conditions, she had the same choice Sarah Brady faced, Suzanne Hupps choice as reflected by her words in regards to the second amendment and other decisions she made bear truth to the proper moral courage and the resulting proper choices.
Mrs Hupps words are on youtube should anyone care to hear them, they speak for themselves as to who acted with moral courage and who acted as a moral coward, and who's words reflect that moral cowardice.

Yeah, but it really just seemed like it was that long. :headscratch

Regardless of what anyone thinks about her actions or her politics, I wouldn't want to wish her troubles onto anyone. I hope her soul is finally at peace.
