I have a padded Vtac and a non-padded Vcas sling.
I prefer the Vcas.
To be fair, I've had to walk a good distance with the padded Vtac on my shoulder carrying my Colt LE6920 and it made the walk as comfortable as is possible when carrying a scoped, loaded magazine in an AR.
I've not used the Vcas much, but it adjusts more efficiently (for me) than the Vtac. I prefer the material it's made from vs. the material the Vtac is made from.
All of this said, both will do a good job for you.

Here is a good, quick comparison between the VTAC and VCAS slings: http://modernserviceweapons.com/?p=1585
I have two padded VTAC slings and like them a lot. If I buy another, I'll probably get the VCAS, just to give it a try.
