I had a small Optimus stove years ago that used white gas (coleman fuel). It was about a little larger than a can of beans and had a little pot that doubled as the top to enclose it when it was not in use. It was a behemoth next to these little stoves.

These stoves are great. I have a Snow Peak which is basically the same thing but a bit more expensive. The small fuel bottles last a long time and are especially greater for boiling coffee/tea water, canned soups, water for freeze-dried foods. My wife and I backpack multi day trips and love the size and weight of these little stoves. The only difficulty might be finding a freeze-dried food you like.
