Email them your reason for not attending.
Better to light a candle then curse the ...sorta...

; except, a hard copy letter lasts much longer than an e-mail. Just ask Hillary if you don't believe an e-mail can go away

Trans-species. Just sayin'
Correct. Trans-Species. I was born human, but species is just a social construct that the dogs have created to keep other disadvantaged species down. I am transitioning to a cat therefore I identify as trans-feline. The affordable care act doesn't yet cover my whisker implant and teeth sharpening surgery, though I have obtained a prosthetic tail.

You can also try writing a letter to the organizers and then following up with an AG complaint, but if this is being run by a private organization, then that will likely be a dead end.
One thought. If they are using Fort Worth PD officers (on or off duty) to enforce their illegal ban, you could write a letter of complaint to the chief of police and then follow up with an AG complaint against that government agency for their involvement. After all, the Fort Worth PD is definitely not a private organization and therefore should not be exempt from the fines for signs law.
You might get better and/or quicker results making a phone call to Internal Affairs. Explain the law with AG opinions. Let them know the officers could be opening up the PD to a civil rights suit. The IA officers will take your complaint to the appproriate divisions and the Chief as well. Couldn't hurt to include a copy of any correspondence to both. I really think to get the AG to do something we need someone to get documentation of denial of carry (video would be nice) and then have a lawyer file a suit against the PD's doing it. The publicity would force them to act, and if nothing else case law would be established and other depts would take notice and think twice about how they operate.
