PD, if I have it right, every lawyer is an officer of the court, how could you consider a bunch of them as LEO's?
Several I am distantly acquainted with are much more at odds with Law Enforcement and make most of their living making a mockery of laws.

Many of the judges used to argue that since the CCP says a judge is a conservator of the peace, then they come under the peace officer exception. The problem with the logic is that CCP 2.12 specifically defines who is a peace officer and judge is not one of the listed items.
With the passage of the law about CHL's for judges, it makes it even more clear that they have to have a CHL to get any carry privileges and they are not peace officers.

While lawyers are officers of the court, that doesn't make them peace officers. So they still need a CHL.

FYI, judges are not officers of the court. They are the court.
Certain prosecutors have been granted special status in the law to carry firearms. The rest of us lawyers have to earn our CHL's like everyone else.
