Ned,

Great gun. I have the loaded model black stainless like this one below. Bought it used. I took her to the range Sunday and there is one problem; it shoots better than I do!
I don't think you can go wrong with the Springfield.

Enjoy it!!

I bought the Springfield. Sorry to all you Kimber folks! It is now at it's new home. Thanks.

Ya got good taste. That's the one I've been looking at and I think it's the one Keith B just got.

Don't do it Ned. Remember the kids need new shoes and the wife still hasn't done the grocery shopping. :nono:

Well, I guess all my preaching did no good. Ya went and did it anyway. I just hope you can live with the neighbors comments on the holes in your kids shoes.

I know if I had that pistol, I could.

Dave B.

I've heard that Kimbers are bad about that.
I think it is a trait of all 1911's, or maybe all firearms; they like to have lots of company!

What model is it first? Then I can guess the price.

If it is the loaded model like I think, and new, then I guess $869 + Uncle Sam's part.

It is the loaded model, just like the one a few posts above with the wood grips. Oh yeah, New too,

OK, I stick with my original guess of $869 + tax.

If I guess right, do I get to come shoot it?? ;-)

You can shoot it If you give me a lesson on how to break it down and reassemble it! I guess from my past experience with my XD that I am supposed to clean it thoroughly before I shoot it. Anyway, I paid $749.00 plus tax. Can't beat Tomball Pawn!

Great price and beautiful gun! Unfortunately I am not near Houston, but I'll bet there are plenty of experienced 1911 folks on here that are near you that will help you out with info and how to break down.

They really are pretty easy. Just be careful when removing the recoil spring assembly or the spring plug can go flying and get lost.

Give us a range report ASAP!

Already happened! Luckily it bounced off the oven door and landed on the kitchen floor! I am just happy that it did not break the glass front on the oven-that would have been a tough one to explain to the wife. I recently broke a light fixture from an champagne cork, that was kind of like an accidental discharge. I think that I got a good deal, but no more gun stuff for awhile. I purchased a gun safe two weeks ago so I better slow down a bit. Those Tucker HF-1 holsters sure look nice!
