Nothing.

[sarcarsm] I thought the 4473 wasn't a "registration" and that only the dealers kept them [/sarcarsm] :headscratch
Good and worrying point.

the agents said they were asking because the members had bought types of guns that are frequently recovered in Mexico.
I would tell them when the do actually recover a gun registered to me, that wasn't reported stolen, in Mexico- come back and ask at that time.

What types of guns are frequently recovered in Mexico? handguns? Revolvers, pistols, rifles, no specificity in the article... it's to easy to just say "handguns" and go asking around. I'm sure their own duty weapons are also the "type" of guns frequently recovered.

We refuse, they insist, we whip out our recording devices, get our witnesses etc etc etc...

And then those authorities refuse to cooperate???

I have a sneeky feeling they will not proceed, and will inform you that we cannot record them (images and voices) for whatever reasons they can come up with...
At which point they are politely reminded that as public officials performing public duties with a member of the public, they have NO expectation of privacy, and are politely invited to depart peacefully.

Perhaps asking them if they have any preferred title for their YouTube video might be appropriate.

I would not give permission. I would call my attorney instantly while they stand at the door. Laying down for government tyranny is not the right answer. Mexico and it's drug cartel problems are just that...Mexico's problem. I feel NO urge to sacrifice my rights for the benefit of Mexico.

People in Iran are dying (quite literally) to get a taste of the freedoms that too many Americans are willing to let slip away in the name of "safety."

A large part of Mexicos problens are because their goverment has disarmed the good people and told the bad guys "ya'll shouldn't do that you know."

It is ironic to watch what that is happening in Iran, it light of what is happening in America. :confused5

Exactly...and now they want to do the same thing to Americans. It makes me crazy when anti-gun States, like Kalifornia, or anti gun countries like Mexico choose to act like the reason gun control doesn't work is because there is not enough of it.

So, are they targeting NRA members???

Might have to make all donations to the NRA as anonymous donations and forget about the tax write off.

Do they allow tax write off on donations made to the NRA? Just curious...

Looks that way, from what they said here...

I find it unlikely that there is a member of the NRA that does not own a firearm...or doesn't make a purchase every now and then...So it would be a good guess that the BATF put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5... ;-)

The BATFE has made yet another assumption that these efforts being made by their organization (under pressure from higher authority) would not garner attention (from our community) as fast as it has...
