If this was the story told to investigating officers who found a bloody teenage body on the ground, two others across the street screaming you shot the kid after yelling unrepeatable prejudicial things at them (you can count on this happening)

If the police run the punks record and they have one longer than your leg (you can count on this happening) the cops have a choice whether to believe a decent, taxpaying citizen or gang members. If the cops trust the gang members, the cops should only blame themselves when the gang members eventually kill a cop who was stupid enough to trust them.

Backgrounds come out during follow up investigations, and even gangbangers sometimes tell the truth for their own reasons.

On scene arrest decisions are made on probable cause on the basis of what can be ascertained at the time.

The one indisputable fact in this case would be the bloody body on the ground.

It would be foolish to put one's freedom at risk by betting on the presumed outcome of police interpretation of a he said / she said contest.
