Hmmm..I like takedown 22's. I'm gonna have to look into this one.
I like the Henry also.
I still have my Belgium Browning 22 Auto takedown...Its just fun to shoot...but kinda strange with bottom ejection.

Guess I have about 12 or so 22 rifles and 5+ 22 pistols, and one old Ruger 3 screw SA with 22 mag cylinder.
Guess you could say I like 22's.
But there is always room for another
I sold several last year, so there IS room.

Then there are 410's..But thats for another post

I got one last Monday at Academy for $319.

I shot 50 rounds at 50yd and kept it to about a one foot spread. I was reasonable pleased considering I couldn't really see the sights at all.

I've got QR scope rings on order and I'm going to use the Nikon rimfire 3-9x40 scope on it.

Yay, got all the parts and the scope and sighted it in last night.

I used some cheap UTG rings and base but it seems to be OK. I took the scope off/on several times and it returned to zero or pretty darn close.

What distance did you shoot and what were you groups like?

I'm shooting at 50yds to learn how to shoot with this featherweight rifle with a 7lb trigger. Not at all like a 700P with a 2.5lb trigger that is big and heavy and stays where you put it while you pull the trigger.

With the Nikon, I'm getting about 2" groups with a few flyers. Some flyers are definitely my fault, but some seem like ammo issues.
For example, I know I didn't pull it, but a shot will be 5" low or high exactly centered under where I'm aiming.

I am stacking holes sometimes, but I'm not sure if it's skill or luck.

I'm getting the occasional FTE, but everyone says that's a common 10/22 issue and a Volquartsen extractor will fix it, so I ordered one. It was 13 bucks, so I figured it's worth a try.

I have been using that in my 10/22- been having a lot of issues with it lately. before opening this box, i fininshed of about 150 rounds from my previos box with no problems. no this new box has had several no fire, missfeed and ejection problems. Cleaned the gun realy well, but still have the same issues. Going to try some diffrent ammo. I think walmart has tried to get cheaper rounds to keep costs down. All the ammo I have been getting there the last few times seems to have similer issues in diffrent guns

That is pretty cool. I don't understand the point of it, but it is pretty sweet how they do it. I could see a mini 14 or mini 30 being handy in that configuration to keep in a trunk.

It's basically an alternative to the Henry AR-7 survival rifle, but with better design, construction, aftermarket, accuracy, etc.

I took my daughter to Best of the West yesterday to shoot the 10/22. She really liked it and shot around 100 rounds which is way more than she's ever done in one sitting before. She liked it because it is quiet and doesn't recoil much.

We mostly shot the Federal bulk pack, but I did shoot one box of CCI Stinger.

Although the CCI did not zero at the same place due to the weight and velocity difference*, I could quickly tell it was far more consistent ammo and groups were much tighter. But it is lot more expensive too. Perhaps I'll try to find something in between in cost and performance.

When I got home, of course the Volquartsen bolt kit was in the mail. I also got their bolt catch which lets you just pull back to release the bolt rather than fiddle with the catch. Both were pretty easy to install. I only shot the new extractor across the room once.
