Ruger kept it quiet
Ruger announced a “new” gun today a Take-Down 10/22 and I think this could be a huge home run!
This new takedown model of the 10/22 is basically a Ruger All-Weather Model made with the takedown modifications. It has an aluminum alloy receiver, stainless steel bolt and barrel, and carbine style, black fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin stock with composite barrel band. One inch in front of the receiver the stock is “cut,” separating the forend from the rest of the stock.
If interested, new article coverages of Ruger's 10/22 Take Down Rifle...

The release just came out today. I am very interested in getting my hands on this model?... What are your thoughts?...

Looks nice! I still don't own a .22 rifle....might have to consider this one when it comes time to change that.

Re: Ruger kept it quiet
This is going to sound silly coming from someone who doesn't have one yet, but I think everyone should have a .22 semiauto rifle on their list of "must owns".mrmagnum wrote:didn't want a .22 rifle til I saw this one. Pure awesomesauce
Easy to teach non shooters on, and cheap cheap shooting to practice sight alignment/trigger control so you're a better shot with the big guns....
In fact, that's the same reason I have a .22 pistol!

That's what i've been told but in my infinite wisdom I blew it off. Rethought that and will be picking on of these up. A pistol as well to help the wife with her shooting74novaman wrote:This is going to sound silly coming from someone who doesn't have one yet, but I think everyone should have a .22 semiauto rifle on their list of "must owns".mrmagnum wrote:didn't want a .22 rifle til I saw this one. Purely, just to stir the pot. Most of you have seen this.

For compactness, the Henry wins. I'm not very keen about the front sight on the Henry though.eureka40 wrote:Purely, just to stir the pot. Most of you have seen this.

I think I'd still pick the 10/22 - much bigger aftermarket, and the overall design looks more sturdy to me.
Both have their benefits though

This is a huge selling point of any 10/22 to me.OldCannon wrote:For compactness, the Henry wins. I'm not very keen about the front sight on the Henry though.eureka40 wrote:Purely, just to stir the pot. Most of you have seen this.

Re: Ruger kept it quiet
great new piece. i have a thing for take-down guns. I've always eyeballed take-down lever guns.
this will make a great excuse to buy a new .22 long gun.

Re: Ruger kept it quiet
That is pretty cool. I don't understand the point of it, but it is pretty sweet how they do it. I could see a mini 14 or mini 30 being handy in that configuration to keep in a trunk.
