Wait until you get your new mag before you reach a final decision.Teamless wrote:my first concealed carry gun was a Taurus PT111
went bang every time, and never had any issues
the PT1911 shoots good and the only issue was the factory mag
So i dont feel that Taurus guns are junk at all, just their ability to get replacement mags!

I am happy that they finally got a mag on the way to you. I've found that Taurus mags need a really good cleaning considering how heavily greased they come from Brazil.
Anyway how is their 1911 aside from the mag? I own a couple of Taurus semi-autos and was curious about it.
*edit* Saw your comment about how it shoots well. You can disregard my question if you want.

I've got about a bakers dozen of Tauri pistols and a couple of revolvers. They have been a great bang for the buck. Keep on bad mouthing them - keeps them inexpensive for me. Any problems I had (2) were taken care of quickly by Taurus with no questions asked. Customer service has always been professional and courteous. My pistols and revolvers so far have been reliable, eat whatever ammo fed and dependable - my CCW's are all, save one, Tauri.

Wino, Im glad Taurus has taken care of you,
For me, over 4 months for a replacement magazine, is a bit insane, don't you think?
Also, it could have been 5-6-7-8 months, had I not pushed the issue with them, as well as basically threatened them with keeping giving them a bad name on this forum.

Re: Taurus ... gripe
Teamless - I can appreciate your frustration in the delay. I had to wait 7 months to get a front sight replacement I lost on the range - it was free under warranty and had already received a free rear sight for same gun for same reason. Returned one pistol with mag drop problem and it turned in 12 days. Had sight problem with another and it took seven weeks to get back. Wasn't happy with the long delivery or repair delays - but they always came through in the end. Hard for me to complain or give Taurus a bad time, plus I have lots of patience and other guns to shoot.
