I didn't know until last night that the prosecution was not asking for the death penalty. That was complete garbage. The jury may not have answered the questions such that he would get the death penalty, but it should have been an option. He's going to appeal anyway.

I read early on the prosecution was worried they would not get a conviction of the death penalty option was on the table. Seemed crazy to me at the time and it still does.

My understanding is that Kyle's wife requested prior to the trial that the death penalty be taken off the table.
