It's Texas.

"My house is so big it has two zip codes."

I live in the Bay Colony subdivision. My actual address is League City, 77573 (this is what’s on my drivers license and CHL). I can't use that zipcode if I want to receive any mail....so my mailing address is the same street address with Dickinson, 77539 instead of League City. This fact actually kept me from being able to have my CHL overnighted to me as DPS will not overnight a CHL to an address that doesn’t exactly match what’s on the license. My ISD is also Dickinson, but if my house alarm goes off, League City PD will be dispatched. This is actually not unusual for many places in Galveston and Brazoria counties.

YUP, we live off of FM517 just below and west of Bay Colony. We live in Galveston county and have an Alvin mailing address which is in Brazoria county but the physical county location of our house is listed as a part of the city of Algoa. Our phone is from Dickinson, our emergency services come from Santa Fe and we are not in any city limit. Drives the pizza delivery guys crazy!

Isn't your zip code whatever the post office says it is? Like your area code is whatever the phone company says it is.

I will have to ask my wife about the two different zip codes. She works at the Friendswood post office, some of you know her at the front. There is a section of League City that the physical mailing address is League city but is West of Friendswood but no roads easily go from League City to the location. So I think at one time Friendswood actually did the delivery. Anyway, yes, zips by post office, area code by phone company. Like I said my county platt says my house is in Algoa but that has nothing to do with what zip code, school area, or any other service area allocation my house is considered a part of.

That's Alvin!! Woot!!

Yeah, I dont get that....Alvin??? I have family who are cops here and I know it is bad but just driving around it doesnt seem bad at all.
Maybe having a whole lot of CHL holders is what keeps the place nice and civil. Alvin is a pretty nice place to raise kids.
