Re: Another CHL incident
What's that saying about a knife fight? If you're in a knife fight...expect to get cut....that's why you bring a GUN to the knife fight and do your best to keep distance if at all possible...if I'm faced with a knife and in a position where I don't have many other options then it's probably going to come down to a "BANG" directed at the knife-wielding attacker. Even a pencil/pen, in the right hands, can be deadly. It's about intent too...it doesn't sound like the perps were having a friendly chat along the lines of "hey, let's compare knives," know what I mean?

Re: Another CHL incident
Reality check
Some of these “people” are the scum of the earth. They are animals. They would kill you as easily as they would step on a bug. I have dealt with some of them. I can give a couple of examples if you would like.
If you are shooting anything less than a 45 and you don’t hit him in the heart or the head, a man can get shot three or four times, still take three or four steps, grab your gun and stab you to death. Especially if he is high.
I know of a situation where a robber was shot in the temple with a 9mm and the bullet came out of his eye. He shot the clerk with a shotgun, jumped in his car and took off. He ended up driving himself to the hospital with one eye totally gone (fact).
If I am facing a man with a knife, he and his buddies will have my undivided attention. I am not going to take my attention off of them for even a half second to dial 911. If I really fear for my life or grievous injury he is not going to get shot just once. It also doesn’t matter what size the knife is in his hand. Getting smacked up side the head with a glass will turn most peoples lights out.
With all due respect if I were in good physical shape and trained in martial arts that would be my last resort, not my first resort. You might be able to physically overpower one but get stabbed in the back by one or more of his buddies.
It sounds like these were wanabees any way. One got shot the others ran.

God Bless America, and please hurry.

You’re going to say all of that while being attacked from a distance of a few feet before having to pull the trigger? Good luck with that. I would suggest taking part in a Tueller drill or two.MojoTexas wrote:If, while I'm on the phone with the 911 dispatcher, one of the four men tries to attack me, I can tell the 911 dispatcher that I am a CHL holder and legally armed and that I'm prepared to legally defend myself *BEFORE* pulling the trigger.
