Why wouldn't they be chasing the criminals that did the illegal purchases and sold them across the border based on the serial nos that they have from the recovered weapons, rather than chasing citizens with purchases tied to no illegal activities. What a waste of (our tax money) resources!

Because they are far more interested in limiting and restricting the rights of responsible gun owners then chasing down criminals.

NRA-ILA has recently received several calls from NRA members in border states who have been visited or called by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. In some cases, agents have asked to enter these people's homes, and requested serial numbers of all firearms the members possess.
Umm, NO.

Would it be wiser to demand a warrant (if that's the route you take) and then promptly get on the phone to a lawyer - cuz you're REALLY gonna need one, even though you've done nothing wrong, but fighting for your rights really steams the BATFE.
Anyone actually know if it might be wiser to simply let them see you're not a criminal by cooperating, though it galls you?
One thing is clear. being half way co-operative is the worse thing you can do, Scooter Libby and Martha Stuart would testify to that fact.

I'm starting to hear things now that this is starting in San Antonio...I'm trying to track down some more details or concrete information.
Anyone else hear this?
